Guilin

Situated in the northeast of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region,Guilin is considered to be the pearl of China's  tourist industry on account of the natural beauty and historic treasures.It is one of China's most picturesque cities, with a population of 670,000. Its name means "forest of Sweet Osmanthus", owing to the large number of fragrant Sweet Osmanthus trees located in the city.
The scenery of Guilin has been called the finest under heaven.  It attracts innumerous tourists from all over the world. Guilin's scenery is characterized by its "green hills, crystal water,unique rocks and fantastic caves" , which are typical of sub-tropical  karst formation. Li River, a picturesque river, adds a great charm to the picture-like landscape of Guilin.
